MEET MS. SABLES
When I have free time, I like to stay active by going on hikes, going to the lake, lounging by the pool, or reading. Reading is a great passion of mine, and I am always looking for the next great book, especially on the topic of Germany during WWII. I also LOVE spending time with my family, and take up any opportunity I have to catch a movie or dinner with my mom, dad, or "baby" brother. Community programs are also close to my heart, specifically the Walk to End Alzheimer's events. |
I have more recently caught the travel bug, and have been trying to take as many road trips as possible. My favorite place to visit currently is Lake Tahoe, but I also love spending summer vacations in Maine, enjoying the ocean air. My dream travel destination is Cardiff, Wales, as it is home to my favorite show's museum: Doctor Who! Germany, London, New York City, and Hawaii are also on my dream travel list; hopefully to be fulfilled in the next several years.
Oh, and I can't forget to mention my obsession over owls! I find them to be such fascinating creatures, along with adorable classroom decor; thus the "Sables' Swoopers" motto!
My philosophy about teaching is simple:
"Every student can learn; just not on the same day, or in the same way." -George Evans
While this quote may seem like an oversimplification of one's philosophy about teaching, it has truly been my belief for some time now. I approach teaching every day with the knowledge that every one of my students has the ability to learn and grow; such knowledge inspires me to find countless ways of imparting knowledge, encouraging growth, and inspiring high expectations.
